So, I know I've been a bad blogger over the past month. The last few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind with lots of things happening (I'll try to get some belated posts up over the next couple of weeks). BUT...today was our first official day of summer vacation. Yay! And hopefully, since my stress level has now dropped considerably, I'll have more motivation to get on the computer and blog.
For our first day off, we decided to take a trip to the botanical garden right here in Memphis. I visited the garden for the first time about a week and a half ago while my family was in town for my birthday. Unfortunately, Albert couldn't join us last time because he had to work. So, the two of us made a trip today. It was amazing - I can't believe such a beautiful place is hidden right here in the middle of the city! It was certainly warmer than the last time I was there (bordering on down-right hot), and we both got a little sun, but it was worth it.

The irises - my favorite
A flower bed :)
This pair of geese with their chicks waddled right by us! There is no zoom on this picture, that's really how close they were.
Then, this fox ran past us - probably only about 50 feet away. I have no idea how a fox got into the middle of city, but it was pretty cool to see.
All in all, it was a great day, and I look forward to seeing more fun sights around the city during our summer break!
