Busy, busy, busy

This past week was the first crazy busy week of an incredibly busy month.  Albert and I both have lots of performances this month, as well as a couple of out of town trips, plus I'm hoping to do a garage sale next weekend.  Yikes!  The week started off with the second trombone recital in Mississippi on Tuesday.  No pictures from this particular performance (the piano was definitely not worth bragging about this time :( ), but I'm hoping to get up a recording later this week of some of the music we've played.  Then, on Thursday, I played (on rather short notice) at the University of Memphis Wind Ensemble concert.

Not that you can tell, but that's me on the far left.  I played the harp part to Scheherazade on the keyboard.  Fortunately, it was pretty easy, especially since I only got the part the day before the concert.  It also went really well, and if you have never heard the piece, I highly recommend listening.  It's a great piece!

Anyway, then on Friday, Albert and I drove to Conway, AR.  He had been asked to work at a marching band contest at the University of Central Arkansas on Saturday, so I decided to tag along.  Friday evening, we were treated to a great dinner at one of the local joints - Mike's Place.  The food was excellent, and it was free.  What more could you ask for?!  On Saturday, while Albert was working, I went shopping...duh!  (P.S. Old Navy is having a great sale for those of you who love to shop there.)  Albert finished up early in the afternoon, so we went from Conway to Little Rock in order to visit with some of his family.

This is my sister-in-law Ashley and her adorable daughter Bella

This is the newest addition to the Nguyen clan - Ashley's son Christian
(This is not the best picture of him, but he is seriously one of the cutest babies I've ever seen!  Definitely going to be a heartbreaker!)

This is Albert, Bella again, and Albert's youngest sister Tessa

And finally, here we both are with Bella (who was pretty much done with taking pictures at this point)

We had a great time in Arkansas.  Albert's parents, as well as his sister Tina and her boyfriend Nick, were also there.  So, it was definitely a good time.  And now, it's time to gear up for another busy week...so, I'm off to watch Desperate Housewives.  :)
