Famous someday?

Last week, I played for a student vocal recital. The student, Lily, is a student that I have been working with since the very beginning of last year, and I just love working with her. She is an amazing singer (I wish I had taken some video), and she is just simply nice to work with. I always enjoy rehearsing and performing with her. I'm secretly hoping that after she graduates she will become famous and take me on tour with her. Fingers crossed! Here are a couple of pictures from the recital, which was awesome.

Although it's probably difficult to see, the dress that I am wearing is new, and I am so excited about it.  (I think I had just finished bowing in the second picture, so it's not laying quite right.  But trust me, it fits perfect!)  A couple of weeks ago, I decided that I needed a couple of new dresses to perform in.  I have a closet full of dresses, but they are all either my own solo performance dresses (therefore, too flashy to wear as the accompanist), or they are pageant dresses (therefore, low-cut, no back, high slits, etc.  Also, not appropriate as the accompanist).  So, I began my search for a little black dress.  Shouldn't be that hard, right?  Wrong!  After trying on many, many dresses, I had all but given up hope on finding anything.  (I should mention that I did find one dress that I liked, but unfortunately, as per usual, they did not carry my size.  Though I did end up getting that dress, it's going to have to be altered before I can wear it.)  Just as I was about to throw in the towel on finding a dress, Albert suggested we try White House, Black Market.  This was a store that I had heard of, but never actually been in.  There happens to be one in Memphis, so we went out there to see what they had.  Upon looking at the first rack of clothes, I was pumped to discover that they actually carried my size!  I ended up with about 8 dresses in the fitting room, 2 of which I bought and a third which I put on my birthday list.  I can't believe I've never shopped in this store before, but it is now my new favorite.  I can't wait for another formal recital to wear the other one!
