finally. Although temperatures have been cooler for the last few days, they are definitely on the rise, and I can practically see spring on the horizon. I love spring for a number of reasons.
1) I hate the cold. So, I love the warmer temperatures that spring brings.
2) Knowing that it is a beautiful day outside motivates me. I know I may be a bit unusual in this feeling, but it has always been true. When the sun is shining, and temperatures are comfortable, and things are turning green, I get so much done. I hear many people talk about how they would much rather work during a gloomy day, as opposed to a beautiful spring day, because there are no distractions and no urge to simply go play outside. I, however, am exactly the opposite. On gray, cold days, I don't want to do anything, except stay curled up in bed. Even if I get to stay inside my nice warm house during the winter, I have no desire to do anything...at all. On a lovely spring day though, I find myself working all day long, getting tons of stuff done, and really enjoying it. Does anyone else feel the same?
3) It stays light longer every day. Though I'm still not adjusted to Daylight Savings Time (ie. I haven't been able to go to sleep at my normal time at night because it feels like it's early than what the clock says. And similarly, I've had a hard time getting up in the morning because again, it feels earlier than what the clock tells me.), I love the fact that it stays light later because it makes the day feel like it is actually longer.
So, I can't wait for spring to actually arrive in full force - with temperatures in the 70s, flowers blooming all over the place, and daylight until 8 or 9 pm. Yay for spring!
